As a participant(coach, player and parent) in the Greendale Junior Panther Basketball Club, I herby pledge the following Code of Conduct:

Demonstrate Good Sportsmanship at all times both on and off the court
Provide words of encouragement to players and coaches
Abstain from profane language, personal attacks and all forms of poor conduct when disagreements and/or disputes arise with the players, coaches or referees.
Demonstrate respect for each other
Prior to any complaint that may arise with the Coaching Staff concerning your daughter please wait 24 hours after the end of the contest/event to address the Head Coach with the issue. Commonly referred to as the 24 Hour Rule. If issue remains unresolved please contact the Club Director

Failure to adhere to the agreed upon pledge will result in an automatic termination from the Club. Upon review of the complaint(s), the Club Director will make the final ruling.

PHILOSOPHY:

This club will provide an opportunity for girls in grades three through eight, to participate in a developmental basketball program in a competitive setting. The focus of the club is to develop the fundamentals and understanding of basketball for each participant. Emphasis on winning and competition increases as the girls move from grade to grade.

Mission Statement:

To provide student athletes a positive basketball experience that promotes accountability, character and team play.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

Every participant will be given equal attention and assistance.
Sportsmanship and teamwork will be emphasized.
Working hard, developing basketball skills, learning to be a team player and having fun will be the main objectives of the club.

GIRL’S RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participating in athletics is a privilege and involves commitment. Athletes are expected to attend all practices and games, using good sportsmanship at all times.
Girls are expected to inform the Coach when missing a practice or game.
Participation is not allowed on a day a student is absent from school.
Failure to adhere to these responsibilities will result in disciplinary procedures as outlined in the suspension policy in the Code of Conduct

PARENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES:

Parents must verify that the Coach is present prior to dropping off athletes for practice.
Parents are expected to provide transportation to all practices and games.
Parents are encouraged to attend games.
One Parent per team must run either the game clock or scorebook at each game.
Parents MUST set an example of good sportsmanship at all times. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. Prior to the season, there will be a mandatory parent/child meeting with their team to discuss this further.

COACHES RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coaches are responsible for team members during practices and games.
Coaches must remain with the athletes until all have been picked up from games and practices.
Coaches are responsible for leaving the premises clean and secure after practices.
Coaches are expected to set the example for good sportsmanship at all times.
Coaches are expected to follow guidelines for playing time.
All head & assistant coaches must pass a background check prior to coaching.

CONFLICT/DISCIPLINE POLICY:

Conflicts should be discussed with the head coach first only after waiting 24 hrs after the incident occurs. If no resolution is made with meeting with the head coach, league director will get involved. If not resolved, the Club Board of Directors will resolve.
The club director(s) and board have the final authority on disciplining an athlete from participating in the club. Such actions may be taken for disciplinary or scholastic issues.
Although serious violations of the club disciplinary policy may result in immediate dismissal from the team, generally a warning or probationary period precedes suspension or removal of an athlete from the program.
If violations occur, a meeting with the athlete and her parents will take place to address the situation.
If violations persist, suspensions will be exercised.

MINIMUM PLAYING TIME GUIDELINES:

On time attendance at all practices and games.
Appropriate sportsmanship at all practices and games.
Meet disciplinary requirements.

The following are conditions that must be met by the players in order to qualify for minimum playing time:

There may be other factors that affect playing time; however the above represent the primary considerations. In those cases where a head coach elects not to provide minimum playing time, both the player and their parents will be informed by the head coach of the reason for the action. This will ensure that the issue can be addressed and corrected with the support of the player and the player’s parents. Please remember that minimum playing time should be evaluated as the season progresses, not on a game by game basis.

3rd , 4th , 5th GRADE:

Based on a 10 player or less team. Each player will play a minimum of 50% of ¾ of the game. The final quarter is up to the coach’s discretion (i.e. In a 32 minute game each player will play at least 12 minutes).

6th GRADE:

Based on a 10 player or less team Each player will play a minimum of 25% of ¾ of the game. The final quarter is up to the coach’s discretion. (ie In a 32 minute game, each player will play at least 6 minutes).

7th and 8th GRADE

There are no guarantees of playing time. The goal is to provide everyone a positive basketball experience while maintaining competitive teams. Teams are not based on an equal playing time format.

UNIFORMS:

Uniforms should only be worn for games, not practices, and NEVER for everyday personal use. All Grades will purchase their own uniforms

Playing Up:

Requests will only be reviewed for a 1 grade jump, meaning a 6 th grader requesting to play for the 7 th grade or 7 th grader requesting to play at the 8 th grade level.
Placement will be based on the basketball skill and basketball knowledge level of the girl
The Club will determine if the move is in the best interest of the players, teams involved and the Club.
The amount of players on each of the respective teams being affected will also be taken into consideration.
Player moving up must be a starting caliber player on the team they are moving up to in the determination of the teams involved and the Club.

Playing up a level is only open to those requesting to play at the 7th and 8th grade levels.

Facility Usage:

The Club is a guest at all the facilities it uses for practices, games and tournaments in the Greendale community. To that end the use of the facility is limited to use of the gym and restroom facilities. Please advise all players of this as we strive to keep all facilities clean and in the same condition as we found them. Any questions on this please see Club President.

Fundraiser:

The Club will again hold a Ricardo’s Fundraiser to help offset the cost of operations. We hope all can help out as dine in, carry out and gift cards all go into the total that the Club’s percentage received is from Ricardo’s. Please enjoy a night out. Details to follow.

COST AND REGISTRATION - The Fees Include:

The fee for the 2023-24 season is as follows: Fees for all grade levels will be $305.00 - *Must pay online (see registration page)

Volunteers

There will not be a volunteer fee charged this year. The Club is planning to hold a Greendale Girls Basketball Tournament and appreciate the help and support from all the families as it relates to assisting in the promotion and operation of the Tournament. Profits from the Tournament will benefit the Girls High School Program and the Girls Jr. Panther Basketball Program. Details will be provided as they become available.
